James Taylor was deeply upset by the horrific experience his five pound dog JUJU went through over the weekend. Taylor said that after Jujur was bitten by a dog, the groomer taped his mouth shut. The result? A bloody, distressed dog.
Taylor recalled, "My dog clearly was in distress. What I initially believed was a mask turned out be tape. Jujur’s paws appeared to be red and inflicted with injuries. The toenails had been cut too near to the paw which probably triggered his biting response."
Puppy Lux, an on-the-go pet salon, employed the groomer that was responsible for this.
James took Juju straight to the hospital for emergency medical care. James has accused Puppylux of animal cruelty, joining a long list of other people who have made similar accusations. San Mateo has launched an investigation to determine if the company is guilty of animal cruelty.
James described the injuries he observed, stating, "I noticed wounds near the joints, around the neck, and in the genital area. The cuts were so deep that they caused blood to flow."
Jack Smithr - a Puppy Lux client - posted a Yelp comment detailing how his pets had been returned to him unwell or injure. One customer posted a Snapchat clip of a dog who appeared to be in distress, alleging that the groomer forced a napkin down its ear.
Puppy lux wants its customers to understand what their groomer said to him. After all, they trusted this person with the care of their animals. James stated, "Jonny informed to me that the use of tape to close the mouth is acceptable and normal. He claims it is preferred to using a mute, which is harmful to dogs. He also said he personally used this method on his dog."
Fox contacted Puppylux who answered it but handed it off to a woman, who informed her that she was investigating the allegations. However, when questioned about Puppy Lux, she quickly asserted that it was a separate entity before abruptly animal abuse fun facts ending the call.
